Foreign Firearms Manufacturer Expands U.S. Operation

Austria-based Steyr Arms is spending $2.9 million to expand their operation in Bremmer, Alabama. Currently, the Alabama location imports, distributes and assembles firearms. Instead of building the firearms in Austria and importing them, Steyr Arms plans on permanently relocating their U.S. operation to Birmingham.

“This expansion represents a great deal of trust in our operations in Bessemer, on behalf of our parent company,” Scott O’Brien, president of Steyr Arms, told the Birmingham Business Journal. “Our operations and workforce here are world class, and we are proud to be able to serve our U.S. customers in a new and efficient way.”

Economic organizations around the state are excited about the firearms manufacturer expanding in Alabama. The company spent $1.7 million in 2013 its Birmingham operations from Trussville to Bessemer.

Great bulletproof vests at an unbeatable price!

“Steyr Arms’ decision to add a manufacturing component to its operation in Bessemer shows that Alabama provides an ideal environment for firearms makers, along with many other manufacturing businesses,” Greg Canfield, secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce, told Made in Alabama.

Currently, the company has 15 employees at its Alabama location.

The expansion is expected to be completed by summer of 2019, but manufacturing is scheduled to start on-site by the end of the year.

FL Sheriff: If You’re Not Afraid Of A Gun, Get One

Polk County, Florida Sheriff Grady Judd is encouraging his constituents to purchase and carry a firearm. His reasoning? He wants residents in his area to be prepared in case there is a chance of an active shooter.

“The armed assailant doesn’t plan on you fighting back,” Judd told FOX 13.  “He plans on having a gun, doing all the shooting, and you’re just a sitting duck. Well, the ducks need to shoot back.”

According to Sheriff Judd, residents should have a concealed carry permit (CCP) and they should regularly carry their firearm if they possess a CCP.

“If you’re not afraid of a gun, get one,” said the sheriff. “And if you need to shoot somebody, shoot ‘em a lot.”

In addition to encouraging residents to take their safety into their own hands, Sheriff Judd has done something others in his position have yet to do: train and deputize school officials.

Currently, Judd is working with faculty at Southeastern University to properly train them to use a firearm. As soon as there is an active shooter on campus at SU, faculty and staff are deputized, meaning they are allowed to use their firearm in self-defense.

BREAKING: Terrorist Attack on Paris Police on the Champs-Elysees

French investigators said a suspect rammed his car loaded with an AK-47, handguns, bottles of gasoline, and explosives into a police van on the Champs-Elysees in Paris, France Monday afternoon.

“Security forces have been targeted in France once again,” Interior Minister Gérard Collomb said, calling the incident an “attempted attack”.

“The car contained weapons, explosives, enough to allow him to blow up this car,” said Collomb.

Two police officials told The Associated Press that a handgun was found on the driver, who they said was badly burned after the vehicle exploded. They spoke on condition of anonymity to reveal details of the incident, the second this year on the city’s most famous avenue, which is popular with tourists.

A witness said the officers at the scene broke the windows of the suspect’s car and pulled the man out of the burning vehicle.

The suspect, who had been flagged by investigators for extremism, has been confirmed dead. No other injuries were reported from the incident.

France has been under a state of emergency since terrorist attacks began in the country in November 2015.

Here’s 3 Instances GOP Staffer Zack Barth Proved Bravery Exists

Early Wednesday morning, a man in his mid-60s opened fire on the Republican team who was preparing for the Congressional baseball game. Majority Whip Steve Scalise was injured during the ordeal and remains in critical condition. The gunman succumbed to his injuries and was the only person who was killed during the ordeal.

One of Rep. Roger Williams’ Legislative Correspondents, Zack Barth, was shot and injured during the incident. But Barth did something most wouldn’t: he fought and proved that bravery does exist.

He sought help by utilizing technology.

According to Rep. Williams, even though Barth was shot, he continued to text people to let them know the Republican team was under attack.

“All the time he was bleeding, under fire, he was texting, letting people know we were under fire, and we needed help,” Williams said.

He wasn’t phased by being shot.

When Rep. Williams informed Barth that he had been shot, he said it was “no big deal.”

Mo Brooks says he told staffer Zach Barth he’d shot. Barth’s reply:
“He said, ‘Oh it’s no big deal'”

He was nonchalant about the ordeal.

Barth took to Facebook to let his friends, family, and colleagues know that he had been shot. His wording of the incident made it seem like it was no big ordeal.

Barth has since been released from the hospital.

According to Barth’s LinkedIn account, he has been a member of Williams’ staff since September. He previously worked for Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) and interned for the Jeb Bush campaign.

Good Samaritan Draws Weapon, Confronts Purse Snatcher in Ohio

In Ohio, Franklin Police are crediting a good samaritan for doing what most concealed carriers carry to do: help others.

Police said on Monday, June 5, 2017, an 84-year-old woman was walking up toward Shurform Laminates on Main Street in Franklin, OH when an armed robber approached her and stole her purse.

But wouldn’t you know it? Mary Moore, a concealed carry permit holder, was driving down Main Street and witnessed the incident.

Instead of driving right by or even calling the police or, Mary whipped her car around and came to the elderly woman’s assistance.

Moore told police she ran after the suspect and, when she caught up with the thief, ordered him to drop the purse. When the suspect refused to give up the loot, Mary drew her weapon and commanded again to ‘drop the purse!’ in a forceful manner.

That convinced the purse snatcher to comply and he dropped the purse, fleeing the scene on foot in the direction of a bike path along the Great Miami River.

Paul Buress, who had witnessed the incident, ran after the suspect.

Moore returned the purse to the elderly woman and reported the incident to the Franklin Police.

The 84-year-old woman received another surprise on Tuesday when the owners’ of Shurform Laminates, after hearing of the ordeal she endured on her way into their store, gave her free laminates.

Good women, men, and companies helping fellow citizens. Now that’s a feel-good story!

WATCH: Will Britain And America Ever Have Similar Gun Laws?

After the terror attack in London, the question of handgun use in England – and the United Kingdom – have come into question. Should police officers carry firearms? As it currently stands, police officers rarely carry handguns and civilians are prohibited from owning and possessing a firearm.

National Rifle Association (NRA) Spokesperson Dana Loesch joined Fox Business host Stuart Varney on Varney and Co. to explain her take on the problem.

“We’re facing a situation where British police will probably never have guns on a large scale. Is that true?” Varney asked Loesch.

“I was absolutely shocked to learn that around 90 percent of that police force in London are unarmed. The community police force,” Loesch explains. “That to me is shocking because the first person who encountered and who engaged with the terrorist there in London during the recent atrocity was a police officer and he was armed with only his baton.”

Loesch goes on to detail the London police officer’s response and how he was overpowered by the terrorists.

Varney points out one very interesting fact though: the difference between British culture and American culture.

“I’m an American citizen. Newly minted. I firmly believe in the right to bear arms. Got it. I’m all over it. I’m on it. However, Britain has a different culture, a different history and I don’t think you’ll ever see widespread ownership of guns in Britain. At least not in my lifetime.”

McDonald’s Screwed Up This Man’s Order…And It Did NOT End Well

It’s safe to say we all get a tad annoyed when a fast food chain gets our order wrong. We might complain to a manager or write a bad review, but most of us just angrily pick off those pickles we asked not be there and force down those fries sans extra ketchup.

However, one Florida resident was more than a bit angry when a McDonald’s drive-thru screwed up his order.

According to police, 39-year-old Freddy Alexander Hormazabal went inside the restaurant to complain about his order and got into a verbal argument with the store’s manager after demanding a refund.

The manager tried to get the enraged customer to leave. But instead of walking away, Hormazabal pulled out his firearm and shot the manager in the neck. The worker was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

Hormazabal has turned himself in and is being charged with attempted murder.

“It is concerning the fact that someone could get that upset over an order,” Evelyn Estevez from the Altamonte Springs Police Department told WFTV.

Ohio Man Puts Three Bullets In Doggie Door Creeping Home Intruder

An Ohio homeowner didn’t hesitate to put three bullets into the man who broke into his house early Monday morning.

According to Lt. Eric Lachey from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, police received a call at around 5 a.m. from a woman who believed someone has broken into her home. During the call, the woman’s husband went into their garage to check things out and was confronted by the burglar.

Thankfully, the woman’s husband reacted quickly. He shot the intruder three times; once in the hand and twice in the leg.

The suspect was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he needed surgery to fix a shattered femur.

Police believe the intruder got in through a “doggie door.”

Lachey told Troy Daily News that this is the second time in the past few months this particular home has been broken into.

He also believes the suspect is behind a number of other incidents in the area, including multiple suspicious activity reports, and home and car break-ins.

“We’re hoping that comes to an end now,” Lachey said.

Rant of the Week: California Politician Does The Second Amendment Limbo

I can’t count the number of times my Rant of the Week’s subject has been about liberals who excoriate conservatives for doing something they do all the time. “Don’t do as I do, do as I say,” is a fundamental precept of liberalism and now there’s another shining example of how low a liberal can go.

California assemblyman Evan Low, apparently an avid shotgunner, recently posted a video on his Facebook page showing him handily dispatching clay birds at the Los Altos Rod and Gun Club. Low knocked them down at a rate that would indicate he was pretty darn familiar with the business end of a shotgun.

Now I understand that there are plenty of Democrats who love shooting every bit as much as Republicans but when it comes to Low, it’s a bit perplexing. As a California Assemblyman, Low is not known to be an advocate of the right to bear arms nor a friend of the NRA.

A article relates how Low holds the National Rifle Association directly responsible for mass shootings. According to the May 18th article, shortly after the Orlando terrorist attack Low personally called out NRA lobbyist Dan Reid during a hearing saying, “It’s very difficult for me to sit here and look at you in the eyes and have respect for you, sir, Dan, because – not only because of lives that have been cut because of your organization, mothers and fathers, but many lives have been shattered by it.” Then he goes a little lower.

After reading out loud the names of some of the Pulse nightclub shooting victims, Low stooped still lower by saying none of them could be present because they were all dead and accused Reid of murder.

Specifically, Low said, “Of course, the reason they were murdered was because of basically your organization, which has vigorously lobbied to allow for these things to occur and to acquire weapons.”

Interesting words from a guy who appears to be a shooter and it makes me wonder how many Islamic terrorists he thinks belong to the NRA. Apparently, no one bothered to tell Low that the 49 people who died that night were killed by an Islamic terrorist. As difficult as it may be to wrap your brain around this so far, Low sinks even further.

Assemblyman Evan Low is a major proponent of the idea of making the entire state of California a sanctuary state for illegal aliens. Unless you’ve been tied up binge watching all 30 seasons of The Simpsons, you know sanctuary states for illegal aliens are… well… illegal on several levels.

First of all, illegal aliens are, you know, illegal, period.

Second, many illegal aliens go on to commit violent crimes in the local community.

And finally, declaring a state to be a “Sanctuary State,” essentially a get-out-of-jail-free card for illegals to live there is, in-and-of-itself, illegal. Of course being illegal doesn’t deter the blue states one bit. Being illegal is another of the fundamental precepts of liberalism.

Other brilliant positions Low holds include demanding President Trump’s resignation, or if necessary impeachment, and abolishing the Electoral College. I have no doubt at this very moment he’s hatching another wacky anti-second amendment idea which begs the question – How low, can Low go, I don’t know.
